Wine
Mount Langi Ghiran Langi Shiraz is hand harvested from the 1960s Langi Old Block, planted with cuttings sourced nearby from Best's Concongella Vineyard.
Because of its very cool climate, the site is one of the last Shiraz vineyards in Australia to be harvested. The fruit's long, slow ripening produces intense flavours, complexity and finesse.
Fruit parcels are harvested from the single block over several weeks. They are vinified separately – some destemmed, some gently crushed and some included as whole bunches – to capture the inimitable qualities of each.
Fermentation is in small open vessels with hand plunging and foot treading. After basket pressing, the wine matures in new and seasoned French oak. There is no fining or filtration at bottling.
Deep red purple, Mount Langi Ghiran Langi Shiraz has layered dark fruit and spice flavours, seamlessly balanced tannins and a persistent finish.
A revered cool climate Australian Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
